About The Steady Hand
The Steady Hand is a free weekly newsletter for family caregivers, written on the Northshore by Cherith Hufstetler-Mayer of Mandeville. It is for the spouse sitting up at night, the adult child who moved back home, and anyone carrying a heavy load for someone who is aging, seriously ill, or nearing the end of life. Each issue is short and carries one honest truth, one piece of named research, and one small step the caregiver can actually take that week. No hype, no advice-column tone, and nothing is ever sold in it. It is free, and it stays free.
Our Story
The Steady Hand arrives once a week and it is short on purpose. Every issue carries three things and nothing else:
One honest truth, said plainly, about what this season actually asks of a person.
One piece of named research, so you know where it comes from and can check it yourself.
One small step you can take this week. Not a program. Not a system. One thing.
It is written in Mandeville by Cherith Hufstetler-Mayer, for the spouse sitting up at night, the daughter who moved back home, the son managing it all from three states away.
Nothing is sold in it. Nobody calls you. It is free, and it stays free.
